EDClass Assessment Winners 2021 Teach Secondary Awards

EDClass has been graded 4 stars on the Assessment category of the 2021 Teach Secondary Awards. The recent announcement has highlighted the capability of the platform and the support it can provide for students as an alternative provision.

The EDClass platform provides a unique approach for students who need extra support with their learning and assists with one-to-one support from qualified teachers when required.

With our gap analysis model, learners can identify their strengths and weaknesses allowing them to fully focus on specific targets. Attainment scores and attendance levels can be dramatically increased with a direct impact on students' learning.

Jason Kenneally, Director of Secondary, Bradford Diocesan Academies Trust, used EDClass for more than 5 years and said it significantly reduces teacher workload:
“Lessons are planned and sequenced appropriately so that planning time is significantly reduced. The assessment tools further reduce workload and provide clear insight into students' progress.”

EDClass was ranked 4 out of 5 stars in the assessment category and was judged by Michael Chiles. Michael is a lead practitioner of geography and principal examiner at King’s Leadership Academy Warrington and said:

“EDClass is a platform that provides a wealth of support for a range of education stakeholders. Its tailor-made pathways are an excellent feature, enabling users to create a bespoke experience that delivers unique benefits to them. The resources available cover teaching and learning, safeguarding and assessment, with the latter comprising a 6-step process that enables pupils and teachers to gain a clear understanding of current knowledge and any gaps that may need to be addressed, allowing for a targeted approach.” - Michael Chiles

EDClass has been ranked highly on EdTech Impact in numerous categories, further displaying the positive impacts the platform can have on students.

Ranked first for Learning Management Systems (LMS) and Virtual Learning Environments (VLE), EDClass allows learners to work at their own comfortable pace. Emma Pellow, Attendance Officer at Tupton Hall School said:

“It's differentiated and can stretch the students who need more challenge. When it came to GCSE revision, it was used mostly for students not attending school and it helped them to get a grade. The students wouldn't have achieved a grade without EDClass as they wouldn't have had access to supported learning, therefore it was helpful for GCSE preparation.”

An initial assessment with diagnostic testing is completed allowing learners to visualise their progression targets. This gives them the ability to develop their understanding of a certain topic at their own pace.
