Re-engage and Empower Out-of-school Children with EDClass
Re-engage Out-of-school Children
EDClass understands the immense challenges faced by children who are out of education, whether due to exclusion, illness, emotionally based school avoidance (EBSA), school phobia, or for statutory reasons under Section 19 of the Education Act 1996.
Our platform provides a flexible, supportive, and DfE-accredited pathway to re-engage these pupils and facilitate their successful return to a school-based setting or further education.
As noted in our Ofsted report:
"Another significant strength of EDClass is the provision of carefully considered individualised schemes of work. Known as ‘learning pathways’, these take account of, and build on, the curriculum each pupil was following in their registered school prior to joining EDClass. This includes any specific exam syllabuses. As a result, when pupils return to mainstream education, they are well prepared to reintegrate into lessons."
Ofsted - EDClass Report April 2024

Our comprehensive platform, is a crucial tool for schools and MATs looking to provide a high-quality, continuous curriculum and targeted interventions for these students.
We can support them whether they are learning from within a school inclusion unit or from home as a Section 19 or EOTAS (Education Otherwise Than at School) student.
How EDClass Supports Re-engagement and Reintegration
EDClass takes a holistic approach to re-engaging out-of-school students, addressing their academic, behavioural, and emotional needs.
Our UK-qualified teachers use EDTeach to create tailored learning plans that address individual learning gaps, helping pupils catch up and build confidence at their own pace.
This is particularly vital for students on EOTAS or those who have been out of school for extended periods. Our teachers ensure they receive a balanced curriculum that aligns with their previous school's syllabus, preventing them from falling further behind and making future reintegration smoother.
Our EDLive platform ensures students can access real-time, one-on-one or small-group support. This is a vital component for vulnerable students, including those with EBSA, school phobia, or mental health issues.
Live interaction helps to rebuild rapport and trust, providing a safe and encouraging online environment that fosters positive relationships and a sense of belonging that they may have lost.
For students struggling with school refusal, EBSA, or mental health issues, EDNurture provides a crucial first step. Our resilience team offers one-on-one sessions that focus on wellbeing, resilience, and emotional regulation.
By addressing these core issues first, we can help students feel safe and secure enough to re-engage with academic learning. This proactive approach helps to reduce the problems faced by Heads of Year and Behaviour Managers.
For students with a history of behavioural issues or who are on exclusion, our EDSafe platform provides a structured behaviour repair curriculum. Our content is aligned with DfE exclusion codes, offering a clear pathway for students to understand and correct their behaviour.
This provides a productive intervention, ensuring their time out of the classroom is used constructively to prepare them for a successful return.
For schools looking to manage students on-site in an inclusion unit, EDInclude provides a cost-effective, high-quality IAP solution.
Students can access a full curriculum and live teacher support without leaving the school premises, allowing for continuous education and behaviour repair. This serves as a powerful intervention that keeps students on-site, reducing the need for permanent exclusions.
