Nurture and Wellbeing Curriculum

EDClass Nurture: Providing a Safe Base for Social, Emotional, and Behavioural Support.

Our comprehensive Nurture curriculum focuses on fostering the social, emotional, and mental health of children and individuals, recognising these as crucial foundations for academic success.

EDClass’s secure online environment offers short-term intervention for students facing social, emotional, and behavioural challenges, acting as a nurturing foundation before online learning or alternative provision pathways.

We provide well-being, resilience, and nurture sessions for all individuals needing support before engaging with core curriculum or behavioural interventions.

Our inviting online classroom fosters a sense of security, and we implement daily routines and personalised 1-2-1 sessions with support teachers and safeguarding officers to facilitate emotional sharing, identify learning barriers, and develop effective strategies.

Nurture, Wellbeing, and Resilience

The EDClass Nurture, Well-being, and Resilience session is meticulously designed to meet the unique needs of each learner.

We understand that effective support requires a personalised approach, and therefore, each session is carefully crafted to address the specific circumstances and challenges that a student may be facing.

This individualised approach takes into account a comprehensive range of factors, including:

Learner's SEND Needs

We provide targeted support and strategies to accommodate diverse learning styles and abilities, ensuring that students with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities can access and engage with the curriculum effectively.

Aspirations and Positive Destination Planning

We work with learners to identify their strengths, interests, and goals, fostering a sense of purpose and direction, and supporting them in planning for positive future outcomes.

Mental Health and Anxiety Needs

We offer strategies and interventions to support learners who are experiencing mental health challenges, including anxiety, stress, or other emotional difficulties, promoting positive coping mechanisms and emotional regulation. We nurture them in to learning.

Educational and Learning Needs

We tailor our approach and nurture curriculum to address individual learning gaps, provide academic support, and enhance learning skills, ensuring that each student can reach their full potential.

Safeguarding Needs, Resilience Needs, and Any Wellbeing Requirements

We prioritise the safety and well-being of our learners, addressing any safeguarding concerns, building their resilience to cope with adversity, and providing support for their overall well-being.

Personal, Social, Health, and Economic (PSHE) Education Needs

We integrate PSHE and Resilience curriculum themes into our work with learners, addressing topics such as relationships, emotional literacy, health, and responsible citizenship.

Proactive and Supportive

All learners to have an initial EDClass Nurture session which is structured to understand the learner and their individual needs. This could be structured so that all learners experience the same session with the same questions which are adapted to their individual needs.

For example if they have a severe SEND – an OPP could be completed to identify their barriers to learning, their triggers, their signs of dysregulation and what strategies support them. As well as their likes, dislikes, interests, hobbies, etc. This will help to get them engaged in their learning. This could also be completed as a quiz or game so that it isn’t onerous on the learner.

EDClass Nurture is timetabled for all learners to meet their needs: e.g. when is appropriate; how often it is timetabled; what time of day.

In summary, the combination of the EDClass platform’s curriculum and the personalised support provided through engagement and intervention meetings creates a powerful and effective approach to nurturing the well-being, resilience, and academic success of learners.

This underpins the proactive and supportive nature of the EDClass Nurture, Well-being, and Resilience curriculum.
