Prevent Curriculum

Fundamental British Values

The EDClass Prevent Curriculum is designed to equip students with the knowledge and understanding necessary to safeguard themselves and their communities from the dangers of radicalisation and extremism, in accordance with the National Curriculum requirements.

The curriculum is delivered within a strong safeguarding framework, ensuring that students’ safety and well-being are paramount.

Prevent Curriculum - Essential Tools

Understand the Prevent Strategy

Students will learn about the UK government's Prevent Strategy, its aims, and its role in safeguarding individuals from radicalisation. This includes an understanding of the key concepts and objectives of the strategy.

Recognise Radicalisation and the Prevent Strategy

Students will develop an awareness of what radicalisation is, how individuals may be drawn into extremist ideologies, and the potential signs of vulnerability. The Prevent Strategy's role in addressing these issues will be clearly explained.

Learn the "Run, Tell, Hide" Principles

In age-appropriate terms, students will be introduced to the "Run, Tell, Hide" safety advice, empowering them to take action in the event of a threat. This will be presented as a protective strategy.

Prevent Promotes Understanding

The curriculum promotes fundamental British values such as democracy, the rule of law, individual liberty, and mutual respect and tolerance.

Our program aims to build resilience, promote critical thinking, and foster an understanding of these fundamental British values.

By providing this knowledge, EDClass seeks to empower students to make informed decisions, resist extremist influences, and contribute to a safe and inclusive society.
