Attendance

Improving Whole School Attendance by meeting the needs of the school and individual students.

Working together with schools to increase their attendance through our virtual learning platform - if increasing your attendance is a priority we can certainly help.  Increasing your attendance can be done in various ways with students with different issues.

Testimonial from Springwell Lincolnshire (PRU)

“For many of our students, anxiety creates a barrier to their learning, but with EDClass the pressure to perform in front of peers is removed, which has meant that for two particular students attendance has gone from virtually nothing to 80% plus, which has, of course, also raised their attainment dramatically. The interface for the students is very user-friendly, and they actively enjoy their lessons, even those who have previously hated school”

Students and schools lose out on attendance for an array of reasons:

  • mental health
  • chronic fatigue
  • long-term health issues
  • broken bones and injury
  • exclusion
  • school refuser

Our online learning platform means that you can have any of these students accessing a tutor and a timetable within minutes of being absent from school for whatever reason.  Numerous safeguarding tools are in operation which, while they are online increases their own safeguarding, which is far better than just being sat at home.

They can follow your schools learning cycle and study subjects which they are studying at school. The reporting system tracks all working time vs idle time so you can adhere to the DfE guidelines with a view to Alternative Provision attendance and choose to allocate attendance code or not. Working with EDClass you have the capacity to:

  • reduce suspensions and exclusions, lower persistent absences and enhance learning whilst simultaneously enabling the students to have the opportunity to work independently
  • improve disengaged students’ knowledge and understanding within a range of subjects in a relaxed and enjoyable environment through interactive learning approaches
  • increase behaviour, motivation and attendance whilst promoting fun learning
  • enable teaching staff to track, monitor and view graphical data of a student’s progress in English, Maths, Science and other subjects
  • EDClass students can also receive ATTENDANCE grades whilst completing lessons with live online support – the platform tracks idle time online and time in learning

In the amended version of the DfE document, it talks about health needs and our platform meets this criterion, helping students engage/re-engage with education and make progress with the aim of returning to school. Download the DfE document, the key sections are from Section 25 onwards whilst Section 32 discusses the health needs of students.

Most schools are looking to increase their attendance and we can help. Book your demonstration today, its done online through screen share and you will be surprised how EDClass works and how it can benefit many areas in your daily school life.

Regular attendance and participation in schooling is an important factor in education and life success. Students who are regular non-attenders are at risk of alienation from education leading to decreased options for future learning pathways.

EDClass from EDLounge provides a great tool for motivating and creating a positive learning system with live online support for students who may be non–attenders at academies for many reasons.

Your organisation can use the Virtual Classroom and support within EDClass to gain attendance through creating individualised programmes and learning pathways for students to follow which can match your specific schemes of work and units of study.

We work in partnership with academies and educational establishments to ensure comprehensive levels of safeguarding, well-being, supervision, monitoring, and tracking of attendance, grades and progress for groups and individuals.
