As stated in Ofsted's accreditation visit report, "EDClass operates as an alternative provider to support pupils who have difficulty in attending a physical school." EDClass is much more than an online education provider. Our main is to support attendance by working collaboratively with schools, MATs and local authorities to accurately provide the correct attendance code and work towards a successful reintegration.

"Staff create individualised learning pathways for each pupil. These are based around the specific subjects commissioned for them by their registered physical school and focus predominately on English, mathematics and science. Where appropriate, older pupils study towards GCSEs, following the same syllabuses as used by the commissioning schools." - Ofsted

EDClass has proven to improve whole-school attendance by meeting the needs of the school and individual students through our innovative approach. EDClass ensures that you comply with government guidance and are inspection-ready for Ofsted when supporting students with their attendance through a transformative reintegration model.

If increasing and maintaining your attendance is a priority then EDClass can certainly help. Increasing your attendance can be done in various ways with students with different needs. EDClass can enable you to claim attendance codes through our flexible and hybrid teaching and learning for:

  • short-term provision
  • 6th-day provision
  • learners in isolation
  • learners with mental health issues such as anxiety
  • distance learners
  • poor attenders for catching up
  • learners who have/are being suspended
  • school phobic learners
  • part-time learners
  • learners needing one-to-one support
  • home-educated learners
  • long term sick
  • behaviour repair

We can offer support to any individual, whether they be on or off-site. All our teachers and support staff are trained to have extensive knowledge and understanding of the EDClass lessons, system and methodology. An exclusive pre-assessment, assessment and feedback service is available for learners, which will help them understand, learn and progress through EDClass.

6th-Day Provision

EDClass is a proven way to address 6th-day provision issues and improve your academy’s attendance whilst also reducing:

  • isolation days
  • student exclusions
  • fixed-term exclusions
  • incidents in inclusions
  • low-level disruptive behaviour

Legal Requirements

It is now a legal requirement that an alternative provision must be arranged for an excluded child from the 6th-day of their exclusion from mainstream education. However, EDClass can do this from day one!

As soon as a child is excluded an alternative provision can begin. By working in partnership we can ensure that as an exclusion takes place the child can access work structured for their reintegration back into mainstream education.

Placing the child onto a virtual classroom seat enables that student to get instant access to support, tutors and teaching within an approved and proven method of delivering an alternative provision. The student can follow any type of learning pathway for core, academic and vocational content alongside behaviour repair work. This pathway can be set up instantly in collaboration with the school and EDClass. The student just needs a laptop, webcam and headset to start. Once the child is in a safe environment (that has had a health and safety visit completed by your qualified staff) then they are ready to learn and for their provision to start.

EDClass complies with and supports your organisation in adhering to government guidance such as the SEND & AP improvement plan.
